Market Radar Help
Radar tabs
Market Radar includes two different lists of vehicles, which can be accessed from the tabs in the top menu:
- Vehicles on sale (vehciles currently advertised on the web portal)
- Sold Vehicles (vehicles removed from the web portal during the past 60 days)
For each listing, Market Radar is searching 20 most similar vehicles compared to your own vehicle. The search is based on a combination of criteria: make and model, body type, fuel type, engine size, power of the engine, gearbox, age and mileage shoulc be as close as possible to your own vehicle. Depending on how common the car is, the listed vehicles can be almost identical or rather different than your own vehicle. The colour symbols illustrate how similar each of the competitors' cars is compared with your own car.
The asking price of each car is compared to its Glass's LIVE Retail. Notice that although the cars are very similar to each other, they are never fully identical. That's why the Glass's LIVE Retails of the listed vehicles can have considerable differences. Market Radar tells whether each car is overpriced or underpriced, taking into account the characteristics, exact age and exact mileage of each individual vehicle.
Glass's LIVE Retail in Detail
Move mouse cursor over the Glass's LIVE Retail column to open up a detailed calculation showing how different factors affect the market price of the car. Each car is compared to a "standard vehicle" of same car version. Its Glass's LIVE Retail has been calculated with following assumptions:
- average age of the same year model (= registered in June of the particular year)
- average mileage of the car with same age and similar characteristics
- car without extra options (standard equipment is always included)
Information of options is read from the portal advertisements, and the identified option descriptions *)are compared against Glass's database in order to separate standard equipment from extra options, which increase the value of the vehicle compared to the stadard vehicle without any extra options.
*) The quality of the portal advertisements affects the accuracy of the identification of options. Errors or inaccuracies in the advertisements may reflect the results. It's recommended to check the options from the actual advertisement and finally from the advertising dealer.
Graphical Price Comparison
![]() |
Move mouse cursor over the icon in top right corner to open up graphical price comparison, which gives a quick overview of the listed vehicles. Each dot in the picture represents one row, i.e. one car in the list.
|
The cars which have been priced according to Glass's LIVE Retail level, are located at the diagonal line in the picture. The more the car is overpriced, the further it is above the diagonal line. Correspondingly, cars which have been underpriced against the Glass's LIVE Retail level are located below the diagonal line.
